The short answer is: it depends on your preference.
Eating one meal a day is becoming more and more popular, but you can eat 2, 3, or even 5 meals per day. You're not limited to some specific number of eating times, as long as you do not exceed your daily calorie intake. Keep in mind that you are fasting after your meals, not between them.
If you eat more than one meal, you may follow the caloric distribution below.
- If you eat 3 meals per day:
25% calories for the first meal, 40% calories for the second, 35% calories for dinner (following your daily calorie intake).
- If you have 4 meals per day:
25% calories for the first one, 40% calories for the second, 10% calories for a snack, 25% calories for dinner following your daily calorie intake.
- If you have 5 meals per day:
25% calories for the first meal, 10% calories for a snack, 30% calories for the second meal, 10% calories for a snack, 25% calories for dinner following your daily calorie intake.
